Part Programming Outside Provider
When a company moves into high volume production , the greater the component inventory count. Often times, an Engineering lab will buy or rent a programmer for individual programmable parts and generally speaking in low quantities, this is not a time consuming or difficult task. The programming equipment may or may not be ganged, but with first proto builds, it really doesn’t matter if you can only program one part at a time. However, when the production is in full swing, thousands of programmed parts may have to be installed in a single afternoon’s build. Obviously, the requirement for high capacity programming becomes mandatory. This procedure will provide the basic instruction for outsourcing your programming operation. Additional requirements for post programming AQL screening may be added to this procedure, but this is a good document from which to build your particular procedure. Remember, most program houses have printing capability but you may want to furnish your own naming and numbering artwork so the programmed chips match your part numbering and revision scheme.
